The Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Ranking is the official ranking of badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by the BWF. The ranking is used to determine qualification for the World Championships, Summer Olympic Games, and BWF World Tour tournaments. World Tour Final qualification
The World Tour Final is an annual tournament where players qualify according to their ranking from points received throughout the tournaments in the world tour that year. Only the top 8 players qualify for the World Tour Final. Commentators rarely refer to someone as the winner of the World Tour Final, with more recognition being given to the World Champions.
World ranking points are calculated from the best 10 results a player or pair gained in the last 52 weeks. However, the World Tour Final rankings are only collected from the world tour events (S100, S300, S500, S750, S1000) and there isn't a limitation of '10 best results' like the world rankings. Only the top 14 results from the BWF World Tour tournaments during the year and a maximum of 3 results from Super 100 will count towards the ranking for the BWF World Tour Final.
If two or more players are tied in ranking, the selection of players will be based on the following criteria:
- The players who participated in the most BWF World Tour tournaments
- The players who collected the most points in BWF World Tour tournaments starting on 1 July that year

World Championships
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships is a major badminton tournament that has been held annually since 1977.
