The Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates is a One-Time Domain in the Genshin Impact video game. It is located in the Inazuma region, specifically on Narukami Island, and can be accessed by heading to the Araumi area on the northern side of the island. To unlock the domain, players must first obtain the Memento Lens from the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual quest line and solve several puzzles. This includes activating four Electro mechanisms surrounding an old stone tower and a large tree, and using the Memento Lens to reveal three pressure plates that need to be activated. Players must then proceed underground, where they will find additional puzzles that need to be solved before they can enter the domain.

Get the Memento Lens

To get the Memento Lens, you must first head to the Araumi region in Inazuma. You will need the Memento Lens to access the underground labyrinth in Araumi, so it is recommended that you get it first. You can obtain the Memento Lens from the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual quest chain.

Once you have the Memento Lens, head to the large round structure in Araumi, which is located north-east of the nearby waypoint. You will find an Electroculus nearby, so you know you are in the right place. Activate the four Electro devices to remove the seal, and then drop down into the Araumi Underground.

Now, use the Memento Lens to reveal three switches hidden in the kitsune statues. Use Electro to grab the ward needed for the next step. Use the Memento Lens once more to uncover two more lanterns behind the shrine, for a total of five. The main switch in front of the shrine stays set at "1", the two switches behind it should be marked "2", and the bottom two should be marked "3".

Pray to cleanse the shrine and a Nobushi mob will spawn, so be prepared for that. As you progress, you will encounter another Electro block puzzle that controls the water level. Shoot the blocks until the sides facing you are blank. New areas will open once the water drains, but for now, focus on moving ahead.

Solve the Araumi electro puzzle

To open the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain, you need to solve the Araumi electro puzzle. Here is a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Get the Memento Lens

First, you need to get the Memento Lens. To do this, complete the Sacred Sakura Cleaning Ritual Quest Chain. This will involve investigating the Abandoned Shrine, following Mysterious Shadows, getting the Sakura Cleansing Summary, and going to the Grand Narukami Shrine. After completing these tasks, you will obtain the Memento Lens, which allows you to see hidden things, similar to Elemental Sight.

Step 2: Find the Underground Entrance

Head to the Araumi area, which is located on the northern side of Narukami Island, the easternmost island of Inazuma. Look for a large, round structure with a hole that leads underground. This will be near a Cube Device and a Sakura tree.

Step 3: Solve the First Puzzle

Jump into the hole and you will find three Earth Kitsune Statues. Use the Memento Lens to examine them, which will cause plates to appear behind the statues. Interact with each of the plates to open the floor and gain access to the underground part of Araumi.

Step 4: Solve the Second Puzzle

In this underground area, you will find another Cube Device with an electro puzzle attached to it. This puzzle involves rotating boxes so that all five are lit up. To solve it quickly, hit the boxes in the following order: the top left box once, the middle box once, the top left box again, and the middle box once more. This will cause an Exquisite Chest to appear, and you can now light up another portion of the Cube Device.

Step 5: Drain the Water

With the second puzzle solved, head southwest from the Cube Device and you will find another electro puzzle next to a hole in the ground with water underneath. This puzzle has three blocks with glowing purple leaves in a diagonal pattern. Stand on the raised platform to get a good view of the blocks, then hit the bottom left block twice and the top right block twice. This will drain the water in the hole and unlock a Precious Chest.

Step 6: Swim to the Final Puzzle

With the water drained, swim through the now-accessible area until you find a staircase. Go up the stairs and look behind you to find the final puzzle. This puzzle has blocks in a straight line, with glowing purple leaves on blocks one, three, and five. To solve it, simply hit the middle block twice, which will make a Precious Chest appear.

Step 7: Open the Domain

With all the electro puzzles solved, return to the Cube Device, which should now be fully unlocked. Interact with it, and you will have successfully opened the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain.

Find the three switches

To find the three switches, you must first get the Memento Lens from the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual quest chain. Then, go to the large round structure in Araumi, which is north-east of the nearby waypoint.

Climb the tower and you will see three Earth Kitsune. You can use the Memento Lens to scan it. There will be three switches that will appear as you scan an Earth Kitsune that you need to press. It will open the way down.

Solve the cube puzzle

To solve the cube puzzle in the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain, you need to make all the cubes face the same direction. You can do this by hitting the cubes with Electro attacks to change the direction they are facing.

• Make the totems on the side face the same direction as the centre.
• When you hit one stone, the stones on its left and right will also switch.
• Your goal is to make all the tiles light up and end on the tile with a barrier.
• Once you've done this with all the stones, you will be faced with another puzzle. Do the same thing again to move to the next area.

To solve the second cube puzzle, make the second and fourth cubes face you first, then use the first, third, and fifth cubes to spin the rest into place.

Find the amulets

To find the three amulets, you must first unlock the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain. This is done by completing the “A Strange Story in Konda” world quest and then the “Sacrificial Offering” world quest. During the “Sacrificial Offering” quest, you will receive the Memento Lens, which is required to open the entrance to the underwater area of Narukami Island.

Once you have the Memento Lens, head to the Araumi region and activate the four Electro mechanisms surrounding the old stone tower and the large tree. Three of them can be activated using Electro attacks, but one is surrounded by Electro squares, which must be turned in the correct order to solve the puzzle and activate the mechanism.

After activating the mechanisms, go inside the stone tower ruin and use the Memento Lens on the three Earth Kitsune statues. Pull the three switches that appear to open the way down.

Inside the cave, go left to find the path to the rest of the underwater area, including the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain. Solve another Electro puzzle to drain the water, then jump down and swim through the tunnel. Go up the stairs and open the round door. Proceed through the lower round door in the next room on your left, defeating mechanical enemies as you encounter them.

Continue following the path until you reach the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates entry puzzles. Solve the tile puzzles by stepping on each tile once, ending on the one with the blue haze.

Now, glide down and collect the three amulets. First, open the wooden wall on your left to find the purple Electro Amulet. Then, go in the opposite direction until you hit a dead end, and open the wooden wall on your right to find the second Electro Amulet. Walk back until you reach another dead end, then open the wooden wall on your right, followed by the wall in front of you. This will lead to a large Electro door that can be opened with the Electro Amulets. The first two will attach themselves automatically, but for the third, you must move every wall to the right to gain access.
