Drew B. Peterson is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on November 9, 1999, Peterson grew up in Libertyville, Illinois, and attended Libertyville High School. During his senior year, he was named the Lake County Player of the Year, averaging 26.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
Peterson started his college basketball career with the Rice Owls, committing to play for Rice. As a freshman, he averaged 5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. During his sophomore year, he played in all 32 of the Owls' games, starting all but one, and improved his averages to 11.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. James Richard Petersen, born on February 22, 1962, is an American former professional basketball player and current television analyst with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Petersen played as both a power forward and a center. He played high school basketball at St. Louis Park High School, being named Minnesota's Mr. Basketball in 1980, as well as being the first McDonald's All-American from the state of Minnesota.
