3x3 Basketball Olympic qualifying
3x3 basketball will feature at the Olympic Games for only the second time in its history at Paris 2024. The qualification pathway for the eight teams participating in the men's and women's basketball tournaments started in November 2022.
Phase 1: Ranking List of 1 November 2023 at 1200 UTC
Three quota places per gender were awarded to the top-ranked teams, including the host nation, France, based on the FIBA 3x3 Rankings. FIBA assigned one quota place to their highest-ranked team from the NOC, even if it was outside of the top three. In the event of a tie, the quota was allocated to the women's team. The two or three highest-ranked NOCs of each gender on the Ranking List then earned one quota place for their NOC.
Phase 2: Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT)
The host cities for two out of the three OQTs for the FIBA 3x3 basketball event at the Paris 2024 Olympics are Debrecen, Hungary, and Utsunomiya, Japan.
