Qualification for Olympic basketball is a complex process, with rules that can vary between the men's and women's tournaments. The host nation is automatically guaranteed a spot in both tournaments. For the 2024 Paris Olympics, the qualification process for the men's tournament began with the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which distributed seven quota places to the best teams from respective continents. The four remaining spots were determined by the two-round FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
