Holy Family University hosted the 2016 NCAA Division II East Regional tournament from March 12 to 15. The university is one of the 304 American, Canadian, and Puerto Rican colleges and universities classified as Division II for NCAA competition.
Division II is the smallest division in the NCAA by school count. During the 2024–25 academic year, 44 of the 50 US states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Canadian province of British Columbia, were represented. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
The CACC Conference Office has been located in New Haven, Connecticut, since 2004, the same year it upgraded to full active status. The conference has three full-time and one part-time staff member. On August 2, 2022, the CACC added bowling as a women's sport, with full members Bloomfield, Caldwell, Chestnut Hill, Felician, Holy Family, and Wilmington as the inaugural teams.
