The Titan is a small wooden barrel with its insides carved out, metal rims at the top and bottom, and a flagpole sticking out from the "stern" of the barrel to display its faction.

To acquire the Empty Barrel, you will need a substantial amount of wealth in the form of 2,000,000 doubloons. This is a significant investment, but it is necessary to obtain the barrel required for crafting the Titan ship.

It's important to note that the Empty Barrel is not a starter ship. Even though it is the first ship on the shipwright and can be accessed by all levels, it is a symbol of extreme wealth. The wood you select will determine the colour of your ship's hull, but it won't affect the ship's performance.

If you're looking for a trading ship, consider the relative strengths and weaknesses of each ship type, and pick the right ship for your level. A good trader following a solid trade route will earn around 35 doubloons per minute, per crate. If you want to be the best trader, choose ships that are above the "average profit line".

On the other hand, if you're looking for a combat ship, remember that combat heavily depends on the skill of the helmsman and marksmen. When boarding, melee and sharpshooting skills become crucial. Aside from these skills, the two most important aspects of a combat ship are manoeuvrability and firepower.

You can acquire iron by mining rocks with any pickaxe. The Stone Pickaxe exclusively drops iron but only one piece at a time. Iron tools and weapons provide a higher chance of obtaining rare resources. Iron is also needed for crafting steel, steam engines, round shots, ammunition, and various other items.

Doubloons

Doubloons are the primary currency in Tradelands and are used for purchasing items, trading goods, and player-to-player trades. There are several ways to earn doubloons: trading cargo, trading with other players, killing enemies, sinking ships, and selling cargo crates at ports. You can also earn doubloons by joining another player's crew and contributing to buying cargo. Additionally, you can purchase cargo from an NPC Trader, but this requires an initial investment of doubloons.

Head to the Shipwright, the game's ship-building hub, and get ready to create your very own vessel. The process of crafting will depend on the type of ship you've chosen to build and the materials you've gathered. Remember that higher-level ships will generally be larger and more powerful, with higher hull strength and enhanced capabilities. They will also be more expensive, so choose your ship type wisely.

Find the Dockmaster and click launch

Click on your boat in the menu and then click "Launch" in the bottom right corner. Congratulations! You've just launched your first boat.

Now that your boat is in the water, you can start making money and levelling up. Look out for other islands in the distance and use your map by pressing "M" to navigate to them. The further away the island, the more doubloons you'll earn from trading and the more experience you'll gain.

When you reach your chosen island, find the dock with the NPC Trader standing on it. Pick up your cargo by pressing "F" and then drop it on the black rectangle that says "Drop cargo here to sell" by pressing "F" again. Then, fill your boat with new cargo and set sail again.

As you level up, you'll be able to build new boats and unlock more powerful ships. Remember to give your ships a name, although this won't be publicly displayed. You can also customise your ship by changing the materials used for decking, masts, railings, and other details.
