The Gonzaga Bulldogs are an intercollegiate men's basketball programme representing Gonzaga University. They have had a successful basketball programme since the mid-1990s, reaching the NCAA tournament every year since 1999. In that time, they have won 26 regular-season WCC championships and 21 WCC tournament championships. Gonzaga's basketball history
Gonzaga University's basketball programme began in February 1905, after a gymnasium was added to the college building. The 1907–08 season was the first for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who achieved a record of 9–2 under head coach George M. Varnell. Varnell remained as coach for the following season, achieving a record of 10–2.
The Bulldogs have since become a major basketball power, competing in every NCAA tournament since 1999 and earning 28 regular season conference championships and 22 tournament conference championships.
